Welcome to Back Mechanics. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of our website and our in-home clinical massage therapy services (the "Services"). Back Mechanics operates this website via Squarespace and utilizes Acuity Scheduling to facilitate online booking and payments.

By visiting our website or booking an appointment, you agree to be bound by these Terms. Please read them carefully.

SECTION 1 - CLINICAL CONDUCT & SERVICE ENVIRONMENT (IMPORTANT)

Because our Services are provided in your home or office, a safe, clean, and appropriate working environment is strictly required.

  • Space Requirements: You agree to provide a clear, safe space (approximately 5x9 feet) for the clinical table and equipment setup.

  • Professional Boundaries: Back Mechanics strictly provides therapeutic, clinical-grade bodywork. Any illicit, sexually suggestive, or inappropriate behavior, remarks, or requests will result in the immediate termination of the session. In such an event, you will be charged the full rate for the scheduled service, you will be permanently banned from booking future appointments, and local authorities will be notified.

  • Right of Refusal: We reserve the right to refuse service to anyone, at any time, if the clinician feels unsafe or if the environment is deemed unsanitary or hazardous.

SECTION 2 - BOOKINGS, PRICES, AND BILLING

When you book a session, you are reserving a specific time slot for clinical treatment. Back Mechanics reserves the right to accept or decline your appointment at our discretion (including, but not limited to, the service location being outside of our designated Bellevue, Kirkland, and Redmond service areas).

  • Flat-Rate Pricing: Prices are subject to change without notice. You will be billed the flat-rate price in effect at the exact time your booking is made.

  • Payment Processing: You agree to provide current, complete, and accurate payment information via our Acuity Scheduling portal. You represent that you are duly authorized to use the credit card provided.

SECTION 3 - CANCELLATIONS & THE ZERO-RISK GUARANTEE

All bookings are subject to our active Cancellation Policy and our Zero-Risk Guarantee. You may self-reschedule your appointment penalty-free up to 1 hour before your scheduled session. Refund requests based on clinical outcomes are subject to the 48-hour evaluation period detailed on our Zero-Risk Guarantee page.

SECTION 4 - MEDICAL DISCLAIMER

Back Mechanics provides targeted deep tissue and myofascial release designed to reduce pain and improve mechanical function. However, massage therapy is not a substitute for medical examination, diagnosis, or treatment by a physician. You agree to disclose all physical conditions, injuries, and medications on your intake form and understand that outcomes vary by individual.

SECTION 5 - PLATFORM INTEGRATIONS (SQUARESPACE & ACUITY)

Our website is hosted on Squarespace, and our booking engine is powered by Acuity Scheduling (a Squarespace company). By using our Services, you acknowledge that your data will be processed through these third-party platforms. You agree that Squarespace and Acuity are not responsible for any aspect of the physical Services provided by Back Mechanics, and you expressly release these platforms from all claims or liabilities arising from your transactions with us.

SECTION 6 - INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY

Our website, including all text, branding, methodology descriptions, and graphics, is owned by Back Mechanics and protected by intellectual property laws. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works of any of the material on our website without our prior written consent.

SECTION 7 - LIMITATION OF LIABILITY

EXCEPT AS EXPRESSLY STATED IN OUR ZERO-RISK GUARANTEE, THE SERVICES ARE PROVIDED "AS IS." TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, IN NO CASE SHALL BACK MECHANICS, ITS OWNER, OR CONTRACTORS BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, PUNITIVE, SPECIAL, OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICES, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THEIR POSSIBILITY.

SECTION 8 - INDEMNIFICATION

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Back Mechanics from any claim or demand, including reasonable attorneys’ fees, made by any third-party due to or arising out of your breach of these Terms of Service or your violation of any law.

SECTION 9 - GOVERNING LAW

These Terms of Service shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Washington, United States.

SECTION 10 - CHANGES TO TERMS OF SERVICE

We reserve the right to update, change, or replace any part of these Terms by posting updates to our website. Your continued use of the website or our Services following the posting of any changes constitutes acceptance of those changes.
