Cancellation Policy

Because Back Mechanics provides an in-home, time-based clinical service, our refund and cancellation policies differ from standard e-commerce businesses. By booking an appointment, you agree to the following operational terms:
1. Cancellations & Rescheduling
Your time is valuable, and we understand that in the remote workforce, sudden meetings and emergencies occur. We have designed our policy to be highly accommodating while still protecting the logistics of our routing.
Standard Cancellations: You may cancel or reschedule your appointment yourself up to 1 hour before your scheduled start time for a full, automatic refund. You can do this instantly using the "Cancel" or "Reschedule" links found at the bottom of your appointment confirmation email.
Late Cancellations: Cancellations made within the 1 hour window are generally non-refundable to cover our travel and routing logistics. However, we know that life happens. If something unexpected comes up at the last minute, please reach out directly. We value our client relationships and may issue a refund or reschedule you without penalty at our discretion.
2. No-Shows & Unsafe Environments
No-Shows: If you do not cancel or reschedule your appointment via the email links, and the clinician arrives at your scheduled location and you are not there (or if the clinician cannot access the building within 15 minutes of the appointment start time), it will be considered a "No-Show." No refund will be issued.
Unsafe Environments: As outlined in our Terms of Service, if the practitioner arrives and the environment is deemed unsafe, unsanitary, or if there is any inappropriate conduct, the session will be terminated immediately without a refund.
3. The Zero-Risk Guarantee
We stand by our clinical grade bodywork. Because deep tissue work physically breaks down adhesions and releases chronic tension, it is completely normal to experience some mild muscle soreness as your nervous system recalibrates.
The 48-Hour Window: We ask that you wait 48 hours after our session to let any initial tissue soreness subside. If you do not feel a noticeable improvement in your pain levels or range of motion after this period, your session is completely free.
How to Request: Simply text (425-699-3218) or email (dan@backmechanics.com) within 7 days of your appointment, and we will immediately issue a full refund to your original payment method.
4. Refund Processing Times
If you are issued a refund (either from a timely cancellation or via the Zero-Risk Guarantee), it will be automatically processed through our secure payment processor (Stripe) to your original payment method. Please note that depending on your bank or credit card issuer, it can take 5-10 business days for the funds to post to your account.
